SINGLES - Dominant Konta Puts On Radwanska Masterclass To Capture Sydney Title
British No.1 Johanna Konta put on a masterclass in the final of the Apia International Sydney to defeat Agnieszka Radwanska and capture her second career WTA title in straight sets.
Despite hitting a meager nine unforced errors, Radwanska had no answer against Konta's aggressively controlled power tennis, falling 6-4, 6-2 after just over an hour and twenty minutes.
"She was just playing unbelievable tennis from the beginning till the end," Radwanska said to press after the match. "And normally you're thinking that she can't play like this whole match and it's gonna be even game or two that, you know, you can go forward because she's gonna have some worse couple of games. But she didn't.
"She was just playing whole match so aggressive with pretty much everything in, and I couldn't do much."

DOUBLES - Babos & Pavlyuchenkova Sweep Sydney Doubles Title Over Mirza & Strycova
The newly formed pair of Timea Babos and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova outgunned top seeds Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova to win the Apia International Sydney.
Timea Babos and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova hit through top seeds Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova, 6-4, 6-4, to win their first title as a pair at the Apia International Sydney.
Babos and Pavlyuchenkova were playing just their second event together, playing just once at the end of last season in Moscow. Babos ended her seven-month partnership with Yaroslava Shvedova after the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.
"I think at least we found a good balance on this," Babos said after the match. "It was definitely a great week. We beat some really good teams, the best teams the last two, three rounds.
"To start like this, our partnership together is important and promising."
Pavlyuchenkova, by contrast, had opted to focus on singles for most of 2016, though the former Singapore alternate is more than capable on the doubles court.

SINGLES - Belgian Mertens Hoists Hobart Trophy, Earns Top 100 Debut
Qualifier Elise Mertens pulls off the first big surprise of 2017, conquering No.3 seed Monica Niculescu to win her first WTA title at the Hobart International.
Qualifier Elise Mertens made it through a tough week at the Hobart International to not only win her first title, but also crack the Top 100 for the first time in her young career, blitzing No.3 seed Monica Niculescu, 6-3, 6-1 in Saturday's championship match.
Mertens trains at the Kim Clijsters Academy, and though she had to make it through qualifying just to earn a spot in the main draw, the Belgian played like a top seed for most of the week, stunning top seed Kiki Bertens before knocking out Niculescu in the final.

DOUBLES - Olaru And Savchuk Win Doubles Title
Romanian Raluca Olaru and Ukrainian Olga Savchuk are the Hobart International 2017 doubles champions.
The pair won the title with a 0-6 6-4 10-5 victory over third seeds Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Zhaoxuan Yang of China in today's final.
The match got off to an unusual start, with Yang's opening serve landing in the middle of the net and causing it to collapse. The net was replaced and play soon resumed with Yang saving three break points.
t was the nerve-settling start the Canadian and Chinese pair needed, and they used their momentum to dominate their opponents in the opening set. They outplayed them from the baseline, and showed great touch at the net.
Olaru and Savchuk were rattled. Desperate to get into the match, they finally got on the scoreboard in the eighth game with Savchuk holding. It was the start of a dramatic momentum change, with the Ukrainian and Romanian pair winning three consecutive games to take the lead in the second set.

SINGLES - Muller's First Title "Like A Movie"
33 year old captures his first ATP World Tour crown
The wait was worth it for Gilles Muller. Thirteen years after he played in his first ATP World Tour final, the left-hander won his first ATP World Tour title on Saturday, beating Brit Daniel Evans 7-6(5), 6-2 at the Apia International Sydney.
The Luxembourg native had been 0-5 in ATP World Tour finals, including two in 2016. The title will propel him to inside the Top 30 of the Emirates ATP Rankings for the first time in his career. Muller, currently No. 34, is projected to climb to No. 28 when the new rankings are released on Monday.
As if it could get any better, Muller was presented with the trophy on court by all-time great Rod Laver. "I wasn't expecting that. It was a great honour. Just unbelievable. Everything that happened tonight was like in a movie. Rod Laver there, standing on centre court with the trophy, my kids in the stands, can't ask for more," Muller said.
Before Saturday, he had been the highest-ranked player in the Top 50 of the Emirates ATP Rankings without a singles title. He broke down in tears during the trophy presentation when he paid tribute to his wife, Alessia, and sons Lenny (5) and Nils (4).

DOUBLES - Last In, Last To Leave, Middelkoop & Koolhof Win Sydney
Dutch pair shock top seeds Murray/Soares in final
Wesley Koolhof/Matwe Middelkoop were the last doubles team accepted into the doubles draw at the Apia International Sydney, but leave as the last pair standing. They scored the biggest win of their careers on Saturday by defeating top seeds and defending champion Jamie Murray/Bruno Soares 6-3, 7-5 in the final.
"We were ready to go play a Challenger in Canberra," said Koolhof. "We got in, played amazing matches. The emotions are just happiness and joy at the moment. It's an amazing week."
The win gives Koolhof/Middelkoop their third ATP World Tour doubles title, having previously prevailed this past season in Sofia and Kitzbuhel. They have also excelled on the ATP Challenger Tour, racking up 11 titles in the past two years.

SINGLES - Sock Captures 2nd ATP Title
American adds to his 2015 Houston title

Jack Sock claimed his second ATP World Tour title, beating Joao Sousa 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 for the ASB Classic crown on Saturday. Sock, the fourth seed, became the first American to win the title at the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Auckland since John Isner in 2014 (also 2010). The 24-year-old Nebraska native adds to his 2015 Houston title and improves to 2-4 in tour-level finals.

Sock broke twice in the first set to take a lead in the championship match, 6-3. The opponents traded breaks in the second set, but Sousa broke again for a 6-5 lead and then held serve once more to force a deciding set. Breaks were traded again early in the third set until the momentum swung in Sock's favour and he went on to claim victory after one hour and 56 minutes.

DOUBLES - Qureshi / Matkowski Capture Auckland Crown
Polish/Pakistani duo claim their first title as a team

Fourth seeds Marcin Matkowski and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi captured the ASB Classic crown with a 1-6, 6-2, 10-3 win over Jonathan Erlich and Scott Lipsky on Saturday.

Erlich and Lipsky quickly claimed the first set after 23 minutes, but the eventual champions fired up for a comeback, breaking early in the second set for a 1-0 lead. The Polish/Pakistani duo capitalised on all three break point chances in their 61-minute victory.
Matkowski and Qureshi topped Ryan Harrison and John Isner 7-6(4), 6-1 in the first round, beat Santiago Gonzalez and David Marrero 6-4, 3-6, 11-9 in the quarter-finals and defeated Marcus Daniell and Marcelo Demoliner 6-4, 6-4 for a final berth.

Tournament abbreviations

WC
= wildcard (given by the tournament to a player that could not get in on their ranking, or did not enter in time.

PR = protected ranking. This is used when a player has been out for a certain period of time due to injury (I think it's at least 6 months) and their ranking slips down to where they wouldn't get in on their current ranking.

Q = Qualifier.

A = Alternate. Used in qualifying when a player withdraws before their first match. Also used in main draw if there was no qualifying draw and the draw was full before the player withdrew.

LL = Lucky loser. A player that loses in qualifying (usually the final round unless none of the final round losers sign the lucky loser list) and gets into main draw when a main draw player withdraws before their first match.

SE = Special exempt. A player who signed into qualifying of a tournament, but was still playing in the previous week's tournament at the time the qualifying draw was done. This player can get a special exempt into the main draw the following week.
