SINGLES - Rodina Denies Chang In Taipei Final
Evgeniya Rodina defeated Chang Kai-Chen in Sunday's final of the OEC Taipei WTA Challenge to lift the biggest title of her career.
Cheered on by her husband and young daughter, Rodina quietened the partisan crowd to defeat home favorite Chang, 6-4, 6-3.
After exchanging a couple of early breaks, Rodina struck decisively in the seventh game to pinch to opening set. She built on this momentum at the start of the second, racing into a 4-0 lead before surviving a late fightback to close out victory.

Croatia hosts Argentina in the 2016 Davis Cup Final, looking to win the famous trophy for the second time. The Croats won the tournament in 2005 - the only other occasion that they have reached a final - defeating Slovakia in Bratislava to become the first unseeded nation to win the Davis Cup.

By contrast, Argentina are veterans of four finals but have never won the competition. The team advanced to its fifth final with a fine away victory over the 2015 champions Great Britain in the semifinals, after two other away wins - against Poland in the first round and Italy in the quarterfinals - earlier this year.

Croatia enjoyed its first home tie in three years in the semifinal, and will look to tap into the raucous home support that helped the team past France in Zadar. Zeljko Krajan's men defeated last year's finalists, Belgium, in the first round this year before recovering from 0-2 down to beat USA in the quarterfinals.

The teams last met four years ago, with Argentina winning at the quarterfinal stage in Buenos Aires. On that occasion, Juan Martin del Potro crushed Marin Cilic in the fourth rubber, allowing the big-serving Croat just four games as he secured victory for Argentina. Croatia's No. 1 will be desperate to hit back this time round if, as seems likely, the pair meet again in this year's final.

Argentina also won the other two meetings between the nations, both quarterfinals as well, in 2002 and 2006. The Croatian team, in front of their home crowd, will be desperate to end that streak and lift the trophy for a second time.

Tournament abbreviations

WC
= wildcard (given by the tournament to a player that could not get in on their ranking, or did not enter in time.

PR = protected ranking. This is used when a player has been out for a certain period of time due to injury (I think it's at least 6 months) and their ranking slips down to where they wouldn't get in on their current ranking.

Q = Qualifier.

A = Alternate. Used in qualifying when a player withdraws before their first match. Also used in main draw if there was no qualifying draw and the draw was full before the player withdrew.

LL = Lucky loser. A player that loses in qualifying (usually the final round unless none of the final round losers sign the lucky loser list) and gets into main draw when a main draw player withdraws before their first match.

SE = Special exempt. A player who signed into qualifying of a tournament, but was still playing in the previous week's tournament at the time the qualifying draw was done. This player can get a special exempt into the main draw the following week.
